I am grateful to be on the land!
Luke Gascho
Learning from the land is generative for me. Time spent on the 2.5 acres of land we tend is renewing at so many levels – physically, mentally and spiritually. As I work, I often think of questions to pursue, cogitate about potentials in life, or reflect on ways to generative.
A short bio: I served as executive director of Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College, Wolf Lake, IN for twenty-two years until my retirement in June 2019. During my tenure, I led the implementation of field-based undergraduate programs, a master of arts in environmental education program and the Institute for Ecological Regeneration. I was the chair of the sustainability and environmental education department at Goshen College. My graduate degrees are in educational leadership and administration.
I provided leadership for the establishment of several creation care and social justice organizations. I regularly speaks on the concepts of creation care, leadership, regenerative food systems and repairing relationships with Indigenous people. I am married to Becky. We have three children and four grandchildren. I enjoy visiting family, camping and tending my 2.5-acre urban farm in my retirement.
